Essex Rivers Hub

Create flood plain habitat

This area is a Local Wildlife Site and is currently managed for hay. This area also floods when the river levels are high.

As this area floods it would be beneficial to allow a wetland habitat to develop and through the development of off-channel ponds and possible tree planting, use this area to store flood water taking pressure off of the surrounding land which is used for arable farming.
