Essex Rivers Hub

Reconnect cut off meanders

In this area the river runs through secondary woodland and rough grassland, there are also two former meanders that are no longer connected to the main channel.

These meanders could be reconnected to the main channel to create a more natural structure to the river and the woodland could be thinned to let in more light and increase access to the site.

Currently access for local people to this site is limited so this could improve the amenity value as well as improving the structure of the river.
