Essex Rivers Hub
Pant; Radwinter
A potential project in this site it to install 5m3 of woody debris. Woody debris in a river system aids in nutrient cycling, habitat provision, food provision and therefore helps to increase biodiversity.
Woody debris often occurs naturally as trees die and fall into the river, this is often cleared though as it reduces the visual appeal of the river and is sometimes seen to be a negative impact. It is hoped that this project will increase biodiversity including fish populations.
