Essex Rivers Hub

Wetland Creation near Sutton Road

There is a grass bank between the river and Sutton Road. The grass bank slopes down to the road and during the survey water had pooled at the bottom and the ground was very wet and boggy in places. Currently the area is managed by cutting the grass regularly and kept as short grass.

This management could be changed and the area developed so that a wetland area is allowed to develop with affective drainage and sufficient vegetation to ensure the road doesn't flood.
